The program is designed to address the individual technical and artistic needs of intermediate and advanced/pre-professional students.
Did you know that more than 70% of San Francisco Ballet’s dancers trained at SF Ballet School? Learn alongside the next generation of dancers this summer with world-renowned faculty. The collaborative and supportive environment includes a curriculum carefully designed to provide high-caliber pre-professional training. SF Ballet School is looking for students who are passionate about the art form and motivated.

SCHEDULE & CURRICULUM
Classes are taught by SF Ballet School faculty and guests. Students attend classes Monday–Saturday between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM. The core curriculum includes technique, pointe, and batterie. Additional classes may include repertoire, pas de deux, character dance, pantomime, and conditioning class. Students can expect to attend a minimum of 15 classes per week.
This program is for students ages 12–15, based on age as of July 1, 2025. Previous ballet training is required. Supervised housing is offered at the Bowes dormitory. Designed to provide intermediate students with a deeper understanding of ballet as an art form, this program focuses on improving skills and strength. The curriculum includes technique, pointe, batterie, and pas de deux classes. Additional classes may include repertoire, character dance, pantomime, and conditioning.
This program is for students ages 15-18, based on age as of July 1, 2025. Previous ballet training is required. This program is dedicated to advanced and pre-professional students and is designed to explore the demands of a professional career. You’ll be introduced to the unique repertory of San Francisco Ballet while studying technique, pointe, pas de deux, batterie, and repertoire, and may include additional classes such as contemporary dance, acting, and conditioning. In all, you can expect to take a minimum of 15 classes each week.
Housing
Supervised housing is available for both programs at the Bowes dormitory, located two blocks away from the studios. The summer housing price is inclusive of breakfast and dinner daily.
