COMPANY AUDITIONS
This is your time to shine. SF Ballet is a professional classical ballet company with a guaranteed minimum 42-week-per-year AGMA contract. We are seeking classically trained male and female dancers with an openness to contemporary work to join the company. Auditions are held by invitation only. 2024-25 Season COMPANY AUDITIONS

San Francisco Ballet is home to more than 70 dancers including apprentices, corps de ballet, soloists, principal character dancers, and principal dancers.
HOW TO APPLY
We are currently accepting materials for classically trained dancers. To be considered, please send your audition materials to auditions@sfballet.org. Dancers should have a strong classical technique, proven classical ballet performance experience, and be able to perform a variety of repertoire including, classical, contemporary, and neo-classical.
AUDITION MATERIALS
-Updated Resume or CV: include all performing experience with a professional ballet company, training, age, height, awards received, citizenship, and contact information
-Audition Videos: Videos should have no verbal introduction and use no editing tools within the solos. Videos must be attached via email links, YouTube or Vimeo only. Please remember to include the password in your email if needed.
- 3-5 minute variation drawn from the standard classical repertoire
- 3-5 minute contrasting variation drawn from the standard classical repertoire
- 3 minute maximum contemporary solo
-Headshot and Dance photos (two to three different full-body views)
Please note that an audition is not guaranteed. Audition invitations will be granted once the artistic staff have reviewed your materials and feel that you may be an appropriate candidate. We look forward to hearing from you and receiving your application.
ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS
San Francisco Ballet is proud to deploy a full orchestra for every performance we stage. Join a core group of 49 regular members, augmented to 65 players for certain productions during a performance season that includes an annual production of Nutcracker and a repertory season from winter through spring.

2024/25 Salary Guarantee: $83,373.32
Includes wages, sick/personal leave, vacation pay, and EMG/Special Projects Guarantee; plus pension (15.59% AFM-EPF), Medical, Dental, Vision & Instrument Insurance, Parking.
Season: December 2025–May 2026
SF Ballet position begins December 1, 2025 or earliest availability.
This audition will be jointly held with San Francisco Opera, where candidates can also be considered for a horn position with the SF Opera. For more information about SF Opera, please visit sfopera.com/about/auditions

The SF Opera and SF Ballet will conduct the preliminary and semi-final rounds together, with each orchestra's audition committee deliberating independently. Final round(s) shall be held separately, with vacancies filled solely on the basis of each orchestra's individual deliberation process. The CBAs of both orchestras allow for candidates to simultaneously hold positions in both orchestras. Should a candidate win positions in both orchestras, the sum of the respective annual salary guarantees will apply.
