Biography
Joy Fellows is a member of both San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and San Francisco Opera Orchestra. She was formerly an associate principal viola for Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and has also been a member of St. Louis Symphony and New World Symphony in Miami.
Fellows has been a resident chamber musician at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Italy and has also participated in the Juilliard String Quartet Seminar, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Central City Opera, Pacific Music Festival, and has participated and taught at Bowdoin International Music Festival. Fellows has performed as a chamber musician and as a soloist across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Fellows is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and The Juilliard School. Joy has studied chamber music with Robert Mann, Nicholas Mann, Earl Carlyss, Joel Smirnoff, and Sam Rhodes. Her principal teachers have included Wayne Crouse, Matthew Dane, and Samuel Rhodes of Juilliard String Quartet.
